Hand Forged Authentic Ninjato

The Ninjato (忍者刀) was the preferred weapon carried by the Shinobi in feudal Japan. It is hand forged and hand sharpened using Japanese methods to create the perfect blade. Fully functional and battle ready. The accessories of the sword are all authentic from the ray skin handle, to the silk sage-o and copper oxidized fittings. This is the best sword you will find. Our Ninjato sword is handmade in our forge and sent directly to you.

The blade is made of 1060 high carbon steel that has been forged in the Kiriha Zukuri style. It has a long Hi (blood groove) on each side. This allows for a lighter blade and audible feedback when swung. It also balances the sword to achieve optimal performance. The blade has been treated with electroplating which creates a jet black surface and extends sword maintenance intervals up to 6 months.

The blade is Full Tang which greatly increases the strength of the sword. It is strong enough to cut through a thick bamboo tree with a single strike yet sharp enough to slice paper. The sword has been hand polished and sharpened which creates a mirror surface.

For about 40 years I'd wanted a quality hand made Japanese style sword, not a cheap imitation. In my readings I learned that a sword should clear the ground by at least a few inches, when you grab the tsuba next to the handguard, at arms length. I could never find an off the shelf, high quality steel sword that fit that measurement for me. Usually always too long or too short. Finally, I found Wicked Swords and asked if they could make me a custom length 25" blade ninjato. They could. It took a while to make, but good things take time. I received my sword wrapped in a fancy silk bag. Everything was shrink wrapped, and clean, but after I removed all the packing, I was truly impressed with the level of craftsmanship. The handle (ITO) was tightly wrapped around the ray skin and the metal fittings were not only tight but exceptionally well done. It was what I'd always wanted.
